Indo-Chine
Friday night was suppose to be a relaxing night. Until Kim thought its a nice idea to get me to watch Resident Evil: Extinction. He still doesn’t know i dun like horror movies. Then again, this wasn’t pretty much the horror movie that it was made out to be.
We join the girls at IndoChine for a little get together and some nice music. It was definately more quiet then Walla Walla. But because of its open concept not every gets the maximum effect from the live music. That is quite disappointing.
What i notice more is that slightly after we stayed there for an hour and a half, most of the crowd are kids. It looks like either the income level of parents are growing fast, or that simply kids have more money to expense.
Mind you a night out at a place like Indo-chine is not cheap, even for working adults like me. An alcohol drink would cost around 15 dollars upwards and most of them would order food which will be around that range. We dine and drank there and for 5-6 people spent around 150 bucks.
Its interesting to note that pricing at such places is not based on the level of preparation the restraunt needs but how much and how long do you occupy that floor space. Most of the people who visit this place are there for the ambience and live-music, and would normally order drinks around. Restraunts like Indochine charges more than what you can buy at cost for the drinks because tables are limited. so that is the best way to charge maximum. Whether you order fruit juice, milk , wine it is damn expensive because the drink is your way of paying for occupying that floor space.
I guess i’m unlike most people. I’m truely very price elastic to unnecessary stuff like this. Most of my friends, can spend, will spend. I realise that having a higher pay will induce a person to spend on more luxury items. It is something difficult to control. I find it difficult at times as well.
