Year of the ox in stock market investing 2009 [Fengshui]
Gong Xi Fa Chai! Wan Shi Lu Yi! Its Chu Yi today and i woke up early to do some stuff and blog although i slept at 2 yesterday night.
I hope every one have a good year of the OX. Traditionally, ox is a very hardworking creature that ploughs your land so its also symbolic that it more or less means we are in for another HARD working year.
I will try to compile something superstitous and astrological today:
For stock investors, docile Year of the OX expected – Herald Tribune
“2009 will be a ‘pure earth’ year, which means fire will be missing, so there will not be a lot of drive to push up the stock market,” Lo said. The economic climate will still be tough and though stock markets might rise in the first half of this year, gains could peter out in the second half, Lo said.
“The market should still be quite low in the second half, and that would be a good time to get in ahead of a recovery in 2010,” the Year of the Tiger, he said.
“Yin earth” years are supposed to symbolize harmony and a move to a new order. The last “yin earth” year of the ox, in 1949, saw the birth of NATO and the People’s Republic of China.
Vincent Koh of the Singapore Feng Shui Center also predicted that financial markets would be subdued.
“Don’t pick high-risk assets this year,” Koh said. “Be patient and don’t expect high returns.”
The global economy could start to pick up in the second half of 2009, said Koh, who sees busy merger and acquisition activity but adds that banks will continue to be reluctant to lend.
Feng shui masters have a mixed record when it comes to market predictions. Lo forecast a stock market correction a year ago but also advised investors to put their money into property.
Charlie Chao, a leading feng shui expert in the Philippines, was quoted in a CLSA research note a year ago as warning of a possible global economic crisis in 2008.
But he also forecast a better performance for the Philippine stock market. That did not happen. Manila stocks slumped 48 percent last year, reversing a 21 percent gain in 2007.
As fewer people buy property or start businesses during the economic downturn, Michael Teo, a feng shui master at I-Ching Fengshui in recession-hit Singapore, is seeing a drop in business.
However, sales of auspicious feng shui jade carvings, which cost $2,000 to $3,000 and are said to bring wealth, are being snapped up every day, he says.
Koh compares feng shui to a reliable weather forecast, saying it can help us anticipate changes in our environment.
“We cannot stop the rain, but knowing it is going to fall, we can prevent ourselves from getting drenched,” he says.
But getting wet may be a minor concern in the Year of the Ox. While financial markets should be calmer, Koh foresees the spread of disease and a spate of natural disasters, particularly in the northern hemisphere, with landslides, floods and earthquakes in store.
2009 is the Year of the OX – Stock Preacher
“The global economy will begin to recover from the financial meltdown. 2009 is a year of opportunities with the emergence of many new global empires.
Under the new administration of Barack Obama, Obama is a self element earth person, the Wall Street stock market will recover faster than expected as Barack Obama enters his peak luck cycle, as the world’s major economies put aside their differences to overcome this current financial crisis.
The full impact of the unison will be seen in the second half of 2009.
The property market of United States will continue to recover as 2009 is the Year of Earth.
Employment statistics will improve as US job market bounces back from the financial meltdown. This will lead to an improvement of the world’s stock market, as many major corporations will undergo restructuring or even a change in leadership.
Annual Flying Stars for 2009
The two most important and challenging energies to be aware of and remedy are the very challenging 5 yellow, symbolizing obstacles and misfortune located in the North and the challenging sickness energy of the 2 in the West. The energy of the 5 is the most negative energy of all the flying stars and you will need to use a brass metal wind chime in the North sector of the garden and metal bells in the North sector of your home. Hang them on a door or drawer that is used regularly to help suppress this negative energy and avoid the colour red in the North area for 2009.
The number 2 flying star represents sickness and you will need a brass calabash and/or Six Chinese coins located in the West sector of the house for 2009. These are to aid in absorbing the negative sickness energy. Be extra careful if your main door is located in the North or the West sector in 2009.
The Grand Duke this year is in the North East whilst the Three Killings is located in the East, hence it is not favourable to “move earth” or make substantial construction work in these sectors. It is also not recommended for one to sit with back against North East as you will be sitting against the unfavourable energy. If this is unavoidable place a Dragon Tortoise facing North East as it is said to appease the Grand Duke. The Pi Xiu can also be used for this purpose.
The positive energies of the 8 and 9 are located in the South East and the centre of the house so if your front door or bedroom is located here you may find good opportunities coming your way for 2009 in improve your wealth, health and/or relationships.
It is important to remember that the annual flying star is best to use in conjunction with the period star and the flying star of the building therefore it is recommended that you book a Feng Shui consultation to best determine your own situation.
